Project Overview

We were booked by a private client to carry out the trimming and reduction of a maple hedge that runs along the boundary of their property adjacent to a public highway. The client requested this service in order to maintain the hedge at a more practical and visually appealing height and shape, ensuring it remains manageable and does not encroach upon the public thoroughfare.

Regular maintenance of hedgerows, particularly species such as maple, is essential not only for aesthetic purposes but also for the overall health of the plant. Trimming promotes denser growth, helps to prevent disease, and extends the lifespan of the hedge. Additionally, reducing the height and width of a hedge that borders a public road is an important safety measure, as it improves visibility for both pedestrians and motorists, and ensures compliance with local regulations regarding vegetation along public rights of way.

By carrying out this work, we were able to enhance the hedge’s appearance, promote healthy growth, and help the client meet their responsibility to maintain clear and safe boundaries along the highway.
